new template

thanks to a different project, i have discovered all the wonderful templates available from blogger. some of them are very good like the picture based ones. they have themes based on topics like business etc. so i picked this one which fell under science. i would also classify this as nature. i like it. there is an alternate one with raindrops which i may use in the winter.

remember the titans

i love denzel washington. he is by far my most favorite actor. one movie i have watched multiple times and had fun is "remember the titans". however i dint associate him with the movie. its more of a team movie.
however watching it again on this wonderful Wednesday afternoon, i just realised hayden panettiere is in the movie playing the associate head coach's daughter. the movies isnt over yet but she already put in a great little shift.
now i am actually looking forward to the movie again. i remember a few scenes like when she meets denzel's daughter.
i remember it being a fun movie.
here's to the upcoming football season.

Access Point Setup: Cisco 1130AG/ 1131 AG

i cant ever get he dhcp working with the default ip address for the Cisco 1130 AG. so instead i use the IPSU utlity from cisco. it works like a charm although it doesnt always show a confirmation. you might have to create a login to download the software.

Access Point Setup: Motorola / Symbol AP 5131

alright!!
i spent an afternoon trying to setup this access point. after a few frustrating hours i succeeded and wanted to make sure other people don't have the same problems.
the AP LAN is run by power over Ethernet (PoE). i was using a linksys router to route the ip address for the web interface config tool. thats doesnt work. the dhcp for some reason (for the lan option of the AP) doesnt show up in the clients list.
Instead, setup PoE and then use the LAN on your client to "use the following ip adrress" to 10.1.1.5 with subnet 255.0.0.0. Connect the ethernet cable to your laptop and the other end to the WAN of the AP. The default ip address for the java based web interface is 10.1.1.1 with subnet 255.0.0.0. use IE to login.
that should be straight forward from now on.

oscars

i love watching the Oscars. i love movies. one of the things i look in retrospect to is the "in memorial". the actors who passed away this year always puts me in a mournful and sorrow mood. last year was especially hard. i am beginning to realize that i know more and more of the people on that screen. i have been on this earth for 27 years and that is time enough (with my voracious appetite for movies) to have a seen a bunch of them.
Brittany Murphy, Michael Jackson, Patrick Swayze were this year's people who i knew well from movies and popular cinema. Last year was the joker from batman (heath ledger) and a year before that was peter boyle.

On a more joyous note, I also love how this year the sound has been given a more important role. I think it is very important and in my eyes (no pun intended) plays a more crucial part in the experience of cinema. I try to watch a movie at least once a week. More often it is 3-5 movies a week. and Soundtracks make me more happy than anything else.

airframe

by michael crichton

liked it. seems like more of a arthur hailey kind of book. tells a lot about the aeroplane industry. kind of set in the 80's so its a bit dated for reading it now.

timeline

michael crichton

just finished reading it a second time. wasn't as impressed as i was the first time. i guess that's expected. the novelty of time travel is gone since i have known the story. i like the romanticized thought of andre marek staying back in history to enjoy it.
